Blue Screen of Death God is the flagship piece from a series of digitally inspired sculptural works which posit the "blue screen of death" as a contemporary grim reaper. This exploration includes the interweaving of technical elements with natural objects (such as a sea stone with an embedded ammonite), as a nod to the evolution of ancient spiritual concepts towards contemporary virtual formats.
Blue Screen of Death God was first presented at Everything Must Go! (8 - 10 February 2024, Cookhouse Gallery, London), a collaboration between 80+ students from MA Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art and MAFA at Chelsea College of Art and Design. The Blue Screen of Death God collection was subsequently featured on New Blood Art following a nomination for the New Blood Art Emerging Art Prize in 2024.
